Please follow these guidelines should your group plan to use props during your Breed & Discipline Demonstrations.
Black Powder & Mounted Shooting Guns
Should your group be interested in incorporating mounted shooting into your demonstration, you must have your breed coordinator check with the Midwest Horse Fair office staff as permits and fees may apply for the use of black powder. It is also required that mounted shooting guns be inspected by the sheriff upon arrival. Inspection should be arranged with your group's breed coordinator and the Midwest Horse Fair office staff. Failure to notify the Midwest Horse Fair office staff could result in a fine from the Town of Madison Fire Department and jeopardize future participation. All requests are subject to approval.
For the safety of stalled horses, shooting demonstrations are prohibited in the Pavilion arenas.
We require that all exhibitors considering flag presentations in their demonstrations read these federal regulations regarding the display and use of our nation’s flag. Please click here to access the regulations. Out of respect, please be sure to implement proper flag etiquette when displaying the American flag.
Cavaletti, jump standards, barrels, pedestals, and other commonly used equine obstacles are permitted in Breed & Discipline Demonstrations. Please keep in mind that your group must supply and transport your own props and will have to make arrangements to have members of your group set up and take down these props within your allotted 10 minute demonstration time.
Please have your group's Breed Coordinator contact the Midwest Horse Fair office at firstname.lastname@example.org
