Ben is based in Oregon and travels extensively, helping equines and riders from all disciplines achieve more together. Through his practical, hands-on clinics, Ben brings a unique approach to horsemanship that combines knowledge, experience, and encouragement. Clinic participants appreciate his ability to make complex concepts achievable, giving them the confidence and tools to build a better partnership with their horses/mules. Ben has extensive experience working with equines in both the United States and his wife’s native country of New Zealand, developing willing, confident, and responsive partners. He has built a large video library and private horsemanship community, both hosted on the free True West app.
Something unique about Ben that most people don't know about!
Ben was part of a disaster relief organization and responded to many different emergency and humanitarian aid crises, the largest being the wreck of the Space Shuttle Columbia in 2003. He trained in underwater search and recovery with Miami police and also in high-angle rescue (rappelling/climbing).
