Instructor/Trainer
Wendy Konichek has over 30 years of experience training and showing all breeds of horses. She has competed on a local and national level. Through Jericho Creek Farm II, she has been raising quality Morabs, Morgans and Arabians. She offers lessons for children and adults in Halter, Western, Huntseat, Beginning Dressage and Western Dressage. Riding at any age or ability, should offer a sense of accomplishment, fun and establish a wonderful bond with the horse.
Wendy is a PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding instructor, Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning and holds an advanced certificate in Equine Services for Heroes. Through Horse Power Healing Center, Wendy teaches therapeutic lessons for children and adults with special needs. The lessons are either individual or group with no more than 3 people, for ages 3yrs and up.
Horse Power also offers other Equine-Assisted programs:
“Horses for Heroes” for Veterans, Military Personnel and their families
“Horses for Hope” for children and adults diagnosed with a terminal illness
“Healing for Horses” rehabilitating neglected or abused horses
Wendy Konichek is also:
- Western Dressage Association (WDAA) Train the Trainers graduate
- Time to Ride approved Instructor
- 3x Reserve Champion Arabian Sport Horse Nationals
- In 2019, was awarded the Americanism Award for her work with Veterans
Boarding Services
Boarding is available through Jericho Creek Farm II, at the same location as Horse Power Healing Center. Located on 112 acre farm where we harvest our own hay. Daily turnout (weather permitting), stalls cleaned daily. Specialized feeding program with Purina or Nutrena feed depending on what your horse needs. We specialize in Senior horse care, many of the current horses are 20+ years old. Outdoor arena with good drainage. Owner/caretaker, Wendy Konichek lives on site.
