Caballero de' Fuego - Aragon / Marquessa
Breed:Pura Raza Española Andalusian revised
The Andalusian horse is known for its classical expressive movement, baroque big hair gene, and keen intelligence, but their history goes back to the Spanish horses of the Iberian Peninsula, where they were bred for war, nobility, as well as the practical cattle work of the region.
Caballero de' Fuego, or “Fuego” as he is affectionately called, is the embodiment of what we were looking for in the PRE breed. He loves people and seeks to please. This was evident initially in his saddle training, and his willingness to connect with his rider and give his best is greatly treasured. Used as Isac Dymesich's primary saddle horse on the ranch, Fuego has been out west on several group trail rides in the Badlands and Black Hills, where his strength, leadership, and confident nature were proven. Fuego is a family favorite on the Sunrise Ranch, where even the kids enjoy riding him.
Standing a full 16 hands with large bone and well developed frame, Fuego has a correct balanced conformation, relaxed swinging trot, and calm forward nature, which make him ideal for dressage as well as a pleasurable trail horse. These traits are passed on to his foals both purebred and crosses.
For centuries, the Spanish Andalusian horse has been depended on to develop other breeds of excellence, and today these crosses are sought after for the classical-based performance sports. The PRE cross foals are easy to pick out of a herd because their frame will be bigger, stride longer, both in reach in the forehand and underneath, and the mane and tail will be distinctly full, wavy, and generous! For those seeking a sensitive, intelligent partner that is brave, eager to please and quick to respond, the Spanish Andalusian is a breed to consider!
Caballero de' Fuego is available via frozen semen which was processed at Select Breeders Services in Aubrey, TX. His collections are excellent with a high post-thaw progressive motility. Contact the Sunrise Ranch for more details on available foals from Fuego, or to arrange for stud service to your mare.
“It is the noblest horse in all the world, the most beautiful that can be. He is of great spirit and of great courage and docile; hath the proudest trot and the best action in his trot, the loftiest gallop, and is the lovingest and gentlest horse, and fittest of all for a king in his day of triumph."
